Participate in the research

The original idea of Fusionnel was conveniently supported by research conducted by the Evolutionary Anthropology team at the Institute of Evolutionary Sciences in Montpellier (ISEM, joint research unit of the CNRS, from the University of Montpellier, from the IRD). Today, this scientific team continues its research on "the criteria of choice used by human individuals to form couples".
Fusionnel and ISEM have established a partnership so that this research is based on real situations, experienced in real life. These situations are yours!
Being a search, there could obviously be no question of using your situations, your profiles, your encounters – in a word, your data, other than on a voluntary basis. It is therefore only if you clearly express your wish that we will include you in this research protocol.

The team will not have direct access to our databases; this access is strictly limited to Fusionnel's technical teams. We will therefore communicate data results to them at regular intervals, according to a research protocol detailed at the bottom of this document.

The research agreement provides for the use of the data collected during the Study for three (3) years. You can at any time renounce your consent and leave this research without having to give us the reason. . Your data will then immediately cease to be communicated to the ISEM team, which will only keep the data processed upstream.
You can also, if you wish, by simply sending an email, exercise your right to delete all of this research data. We will then ask ISEM to destroy all the data concerning you, processed since the date of your first consent.

RESEARCH PROTOCOL :

The research that will be conducted at the Institute of Evolution Sciences of Montpellier (ISEM) will use the data, provided by Fusionnel, concerning only the participants who gave their agreement (data completely anonymized) .

The general framework of research is the importance of homogamy in the formation of couples, that is to say the concordance of various traits between the two persons of a couple, whether these traits are social or biological. Previous studies have shown the importance of face resemblance, indicating that relative criteria are involved in partner choices. As part of the collaboration with Fusionnel, these studies will be extended to a larger population, allowing to understand in detail the dynamic conditions leading to a formation of couples. The research protocol will consist of a statistical analysis of the data, including the facial resemblance data, after a calibration phase. The results will be published in an international scientific journal, and will be accompanied by a summary available on the Fusionnel site.

Michel Raymond, Director of research at the CNRS, is scientific manager of the study as part of the collaboration with Fusionnel.
